Why we're doing this
A labor of love for the East Bay
Everyone deserves a reason to get out of the house and a table full of people glad to see them.
My work takes me into a lot of homes around Barrington and the East Bay, and many of them belong to seniors. Along the way I've noticed something that has nothing to do with a leaky faucet or a sticky door. There is a lot of loneliness out there.
Plenty of folks go days without a real conversation. They get treated like a job on somebody's list instead of the people they are, people with stories, opinions, and a whole lifetime of experience worth hearing about.
The Mr. Rhody Social Club is our way of giving back. Every couple of weeks we'll reserve some tables at a local spot, put out coffee and cannoli, and give our neighbors a reason to come together. There's nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for. Just good company.
This community is what makes Mr. Rhody what it is. This is how we say thank you.
